Inspirations of Patricia Pinto Designer for The Blank Quilting Corp.

Tell us about yourself.

Originally from Colombia, South America, I have been immersed in the beauty of nature since childhood. Since relocating to Florida in 1999, I've carried with me a deep-rooted appreciation for art and design, inherited from my family's legacy of artistic pursuits spanning architecture, painting, decoration, and interior design.

What inspires you?

My inspiration has always come from the beauty of organic and natural elements; the trees, mountains, oceans, and the myriad of creatures that inhabit them. There’s just something majestic about nature in general and the authenticity of it.

Tell us about your fabric.

When developing the Ocean Oasis Collection, the journey began on a vacation getaway on a small island near Cartagena, Colombia in South America. Painting close to nature has always been a guiding influence in so many of my works.

What advice do you have for the new maker?

To those just beginning their creative journey, I'd like to offer two valuable insights I've gained over the years. When undertaking a design project, whether it's for fabric or any other endeavor, it's essential to keep two things in mind. Firstly, the theme should possess universality, seamlessly fitting into any environment or space. Secondly, opt for a neutral color palette to prevent distractions, allowing the design to blend gracefully with its surroundings while exuding an aura of elegance and softness.
